This energizing tincture combines four revered adaptogensโ€”rhodiola, cordyceps, eleuthero, and astragalusโ€”to bolster mental clarity, resilience, and mood.

Rhodiola rosea, in particular, has been studied for its ability to enhance focus, regulate neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, support stress modulation via cortisol regulation, and combat fatigue and mild-to-moderate depression.

By stabilizing stress responses and promoting cognitive endurance, it helps to ease ADHD-related challenges such as inattention and mental fatigue. The formulationโ€™s other adaptogen alliesโ€”cordyceps, eleuthero, and astragalusโ€”are traditionally used to fortify energy, reduce exhaustion, and foster overall vitality, complementing rhodiolaโ€™s effects to lift mood and pep up daily functioning.

I always reach for this tincture blend when I am experiencing a wicked hangover, tension headache, or general muscle pains and aches for quick relief!

Willow: Contains salicin, a compound similar to aspirin, which reduces inflammation and pain.

Pedicularis: Acts as a muscle relaxant and nervine, helping ease tension-related headaches and muscle spasms.

Skullcap: Calms the nervous system, reducing stress and muscle tension that can contribute to headaches and pain.

will be returning to the shop this fall for a timely lecture on funeral and mourning plants and weโ€™re so very excited to host her again! We advise purchasing a ticket as soon as you can for this riveting talk!

In this lecture, we will learn about some of the most prominent funerary plants of Northern European/American History and explore their associations with spirits of the Dead. The reasons why the plants were utilized, as well as how they were used, will be discussed. Much of this lost lore is still helpful for grieving and mourning practices today.

โ€œLast night I covered myself head to toe in the Fauna body butter before a sauna, and the smell of the cedar walls mixed with the bright green smell of the Devilโ€™s Club in that blend was olfactory bliss. Devilโ€™s Club is a native plant to our area. There is plenty of protective folklore surrounding this revered plant of the Pacific Northwest, and the smell of the bark I associate with vague and comforting childhood memories of the forest in Alaska. Itโ€™s incredible the emotional imprint that can be stored and associated with scentโ€ฆโ€ ๐‘๐ž๐š๐ ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ฅ๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ ๐›๐ฅ๐จ๐  ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ: โ€œ๐‚๐จ๐ฌ๐ฆ๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐œ๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐€๐ง๐œ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐–๐จ๐ซ๐ฅ๐โ€ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ฅ๐ž๐š๐ซ๐ง ๐ฆ๐จ๐ซ๐ž ๐š๐›๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ก๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐š๐ง๐ข๐ฆ๐š๐ฅ ๐Ÿ๐š๐ญ๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐ฌ๐ค๐ข๐ง๐œ๐š๐ซ๐ž ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐Ÿ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ž๐ซ๐ฒ.

Whether getting scraped up by rocks at the river in the summertime or cutting your finger while chopping turnips for a hearty soup in the winter, knowing how to tend to basic wounds and injuries with herbs around you or on hand can be both empowering and life saving.

Weโ€™ve just released a new post on our blog about some of our favorite herbal first aid applications for:
+ wound care
+ sprains, breaks, and injuries
+ aches & pains
+ bug bites & bee stings
+ burns & rashes

Many first aid plants are easily identifiable and accessible. Knowing how to use them can fix minor issues and buy time or speed up healing while getting someone to emergency care for major issues like deep wounds and broken bones. Stopping gushing finger wounds with yarrow is certainly one of my favorite kitchen tricks!

Join dear friend of Hedgerow Herb Co. Marisa Rutto for a weekend weaving with cattails in Corbett, OR - 30 minutes east of our beloved storefront, in the Columbia River Gorge. In this class you will make a cattail hat using wildcrafted cattail, harvested locally by Marisa.

You will learn and use basic techniques such as plaiting and twining. Sharp scissors, wire cutters, or pruners can be helpful tools to have but for the most part, you will mostly be using your hands! If you have a spray bottle to fill with water, this will help keep the material malleable and prevent it from drying out.
This is a beginner friendly class!

Marisa is offering two sessions of this weekend long workshop. Each session will teach the same techniques.

SESSION ONE: July 12 & July 13th, 10am - 5pm each day. click here to sign up for session one.

SESSION TWO: July 26 & 27, 10am-5pm each day. click here to sign up for session two.

Your ticket includes:
+ materials
+ hands on instruction
+ finished hat crafted by your hands
+ a space to reconnect to ancestral lifeways in community

Please bring:
+ water
+ lunch
+ a camping chair/something to sit on
+ sharp scissors, wire cutters, or hand pruners

In times when a quick click of a button can have any good delivered to your door, at a great cost to both workers and the earth body, learning slow crafts and ways of old empowering gift to oneself and an important lifeway to keep alive through practice.

Marisa is a basket weaver, seamstress, hide tanner and a person of many skills. She has studied the craft of basket weaving under Margret Matthewson. Marisa is passionate about bringing old traditions new life as a way of divesting from the overculture. She has studied the ways of folk medicine and folk magic, bringing an animist worldview to her craft work. When she is not weaving, mending, or making, she may be singing in the woods she resides in off grid, harvesting plants, building relationships and experiencing the fullness of what it means to be alive.

Join Sylvia & Tristan Eden of for a live reading of their newest book, WHITE FEAST: Experimental summertide lore & praxis. Distinct from conventional discourse around seasonal ritual, the book explores the beauty and intensity of Summer as it is now, in a changing, volatilizing climate. Together we will move through poetry, myth, science and ceremony to uncover the occult virtues of the white-hot, sunlit Earth.

โ€œIn early summer, the year is a heavying udder. The grass is still green, frothing up from the soil like cakes of sea-foam. Eyes open wide to meet the Great Greenness; hind legs push toward it with mature power. The leaves are sweet, the flowers are sweet, the fruit has come. The babes of spring are grown and can feed themselvesโ€”now peers to their mothers and fathers, even competitors. Animal rhythms change; nights are full of activity as bodies bloom in warm darkness. Summerโ€™s first exhale is gentle on us, but the sustained heat of the Sun provokes gentle breaths into rabid snarls.โ€

Discounted books available with your ticket purchase! Come ready to drink in the last dregs of growing light as we approach the dawn of summer solstice together at the shop.

Beltane is an ancient Celtic fire festival marking the beginning of Summer and the return of light, the blooming flowers, and the promise of sustenance. Traditionally, this holiday is celebrated on or near to the 1st of May. This is a time to gather around defensive firelight and wait out the night with loved ones, sharing songs and stories. We would like to carry some of the heart of this holiday into our one year anniversary.

This time last year, we had just finished the construction of our apothecary, and our hearts were warmed by the great community support we received. Join us for buttery layer cake (which is included in your ticket), and allow Madrone and I to regale you with tales of the Hawthorn tree, also known as Maythorn, a most revered fairy tree. Later in the night, we shall learn some traditional songs and ballads from our dear friend Ell . Songbooks will be provided, and while all are very much encouraged to sing, you are also welcome to simply sit in good company and listen. We encourage guests to view singing as an act of togetherness, and less so as a performance. All are welcome, join us!

Be sure to secure your ticket for this one early, as we have limited space due to the nature of the event.

Before our festivities later in the evening, we will be hosting a tintype pop-up with from 12-5pm.

A tintype is truly an heirloom, printed in silver on a sheet of tin. Digital is temporary, the physical is enduring, and a tintype even more so than an image printed on paper. The nature of this type of portraiture is haunting and timeless. Tickets are not required during this day time pop-up, but be sure to schedule your portrait session beforehand.

+ FREE HEDGEROW TOTES +

Lo! Weโ€™re giving away a free tote with every order over $175 in this O so holy month of May, the month in which we opened our door and your lovely faces, curious minds, and tender hearts walked right on in to fill our shop.

It is wild to think that one year ago, we were taking our first real break in months to celebrate Beltane, a little haggard and very excited to provide a much needed space for herbal medicine, traditional craft, folk magic, and everything else Hedgerow has held in its first year. We hadnโ€™t yet finished our build - that wouldnโ€™t happen until 2am the morning of our opening day on May 18th, thanks to many hands who stayed out with us filling herb jars and installing our live edge bar. It was and still is so surreal.

Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who has supported our apothecary! Stay tuned for details pertaining to special celebrations ahead this month. Until then, Merry Beltaine dear ones! ๐ŸŒท
