Today, we invited all caregivers, patients and visitors to dine at the Table of the King. This annual heritage meal honors the service of Blessed Emilie Gamelin, the foundress of the Sisters of Providence, and the generosity she showed the poor and vulnerable in her community. She invited them into her home in Montreal for a simple meal of soup and bread. The meal is a reminder of Providence's humble beginnings and the simple acts of service that continue to inspire our Mission.

The Providence Brain and Spine Institute is proud to announce a new chapter for our patients and care teams. The program will now be called the Providence Neuroscience Institute. This change aligns us with our colleagues across the Providence family of organizations and represents a more inclusive scope of the care we provide.

You may be asking – what else is changing? The short and clear answer is nothing. The programs, interventions and internationally recognized patient care we’ve provided for decades will remain in place. The names of the Oregon Spine Center, Providence Multiple Sclerosis Center, Providence ALS Center and other specialty clinics under the Providence Neuroscience Institute umbrella will stay the same.

We look forward to serving new and existing patients as we enter this era as the Providence Neuroscience Institute.
