Our Newberg office has expanded! With the addition of Dr. Megan Baker and Kathryn Johnson, PA, we now have 6 pediatric providers in a newly-expanded office (same location). Collin Dean, PsyD is now at this office full time for behavioral health. We love taking care of this community!

Now is the time to think ahead about sports physicals for winter sports! We can often sign the OSAA forms for patients who have had checkups in the last year, but your child has not had a checkup in over a year, please make an appointment now for a well child check and we can sign the form then. And, they can get their flu shots at the same time!

We will have COVID vaccines available to our patients starting October 1st.
While supplies last, we can give COVID vaccines to patients along with their flu shots at flu clinics. If your child has received the flu vaccine already, you can schedule a shot-only appointment for the COVID vaccine.
We are able to give flu shots to parents and guardians of our patients but can give COVID vaccines to our patients only.

✅ Evening and weekend appointments available at our Portland and Tualatin locations
✅ Or just ask for one or both during your child’s next visit

We are excited to share that Dr. Megan Baker has joined our Newberg clinic as our newest pediatrician!

Dr. Baker is passionate about building strong relationships with patients and families. She shares, “I love being a pediatrician! I get to help sick kids feel better, answer all the questions that come with being a parent, and grow a special relationship with my patients and their families. The impact a great pediatrician can have became even clearer after I had my own children. I know firsthand how terrifying it can be when you are worried about your child’s health, and a huge part of my job is reassuring you when that is appropriate, and responding quickly to your concerns when I’m worried too.”
She grew up in the Midwest, attended medical school at Indiana University, and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Utah. A love of the outdoors and being near family drew her and her husband further west to Oregon, where they are now raising their two young sons.
In her free time, Dr. Baker enjoys spending time outdoors - camping, family bike rides, and toddler-paced hikes - as well as cooking, reading, and gardening.
Please join us in giving Dr. Baker a warm welcome! We are thrilled to have her on our team and look forward to the wonderful care and expertise she will bring to our patients and families.

Dr. Baker’s schedule is now open for patients starting 9/8/25 and she will be in a shared practice with Dr. Kristen Douglass.

🌞 Summer Screen Time: Healthy Habits for Kids 🌞

Summer’s halfway done - is anyone struggling with negotiating screen time with your kids? The longer days and more free time can make it an easy “default.” The Child Mind Institute offers helpful insights on screen time and kids:

🔹 Watch the hours – A little is okay, but “more than a few hours a day” can start to replace physical activity, family time, and learning 🌳  
🔹 Family screen spaces – Let kids watch in common areas so you know what they’re viewing. Alone time in bedrooms? That’s when things can go off-track.
🔹 Balance is everything – Screens can help kids unwind, connect, or learn — but shouldn’t overshadow real-world experiences.
🔹Let the kids be bored sometimes! Boredom can spark creativity and new brain growth and connections.
