Gabapentin increases dementia risk in patients with chronic low back pain. Doubles risk in young patients in a dose dependent manner. This has become a popular medication as opioid use has been scaled back but there is no replacement for treating the cause. Taking pain meds for chronic pain is taking the batteries out of the smoke alarm. Treating the cause of your pain is putting the fire out. PRP offers a unique mechanism to heal tissue, reduce pain, and improve function over the long term and reduce dependency on medications with serious downsides.

Gabapentin increases risk of dementia. Instead of just covering up pain, people should seek solutions that address the root cause, a path where regenerative medicine offers a promising alternative.

Knee "Clean Ups" Make A Mess! The highest levels of evidence are clear: arthroscopic debridement for degenerative meniscus DOES NOT WORK.

Please seek a second opinion if this has been recommended to you: PRP is an effective alternative without the risk. There is more to medicine than surgery and steroids.

The evidence for knee "clean ups" (arthroscopic debridements) for degenerative meniscus and osteoarthritis is very poor yet continues to be recommended. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) presents an alternative to this route by reducing pain while preserving joint health long term.

How much more evidence need there be to prove that PRP is superior to cortisone?

New meta-analysis of 60 years (!) of research for knee osteoarthritis:
- There are more high quality studies of PRP than of cortisone
- Cortisone works to relieve symptoms in the short term with long term side effects
- PRP works better than cortisone for long term joint health

PRP has been slowly integrated into some conventional medicine spaces and they do it poorly: don't draw enough blood, don't get a high enough concentration, don't know the platelet dose, don't utilize ultrasound guidance, don't treat the whole joint.

Not all PRP is created equal.

See what expertly-made, precision-delivered PRP looks like at Cascade Regenerative Medicine.

A recently published meta-analysis of the last 60 years of research examines the effectiveness of PRP and cortisone in treating knee osteoarthritis. Unsurprisingly, and in line with the whole of the scientific literature, PRP was shown to be superior to cortisone for knee osteoarthritis pain with le...
