At that moment I knew that this was something that needed to be a part of my life. The philosophy behind the medicine is to find and create a balance within and around us. It is a wholistic medicine that works to heal the body, emotions, and our spirit. I love working with people and I have over fifteen years of experience helping others with their healing needs. I can help treat body pain issues, emotional challenges, headaches, gynecological difficulties, internal medicine issues of all sorts, or if someone is just feeling stuck in life. Please call or email and I'll be happy to talk with you to see how I can help :)

"A magical thing happens when our left brain is present, accounted for, and relaxed into receptivity. It allows our right brain to come out and play! This is the part of us that loves to celebrate, and move our bodies to the music. It’s the part that loves exploring new creative movements. It loves to feel! It isn’t limited by ideas or stories, age or fitness level. It’s free to express healthy boundaries while simultaneously opening our hearts to deep connection. It gives us new neural pathways to explore and conceive our reality, which can free us from patterns that feel restrictive. The effect can be downright euphoric without the hangover, and the only side effects are feeling really good as well as effortless physical fitness. In this way, our bodies can heal at the root cause level of our consciousness. After all, we are unlimited beings in a world of infinite potential."

Are your two brains living in harmony with one another? In this culture, our left brain hemisphere is heavily relied upon. Most of us have plenty of time to flex our left brain circuitry. Think bills, emails, text messages, conversations, “normal movement”, driving, self talk, taxes, reading thi...

Can money buy happiness?

At TEDxCambridge, Michael Norton shares fascinating research on how money can indeed buy happiness -- when you don't spend it on yourself. Listen for surprising data on the many ways pro-social spending can benefit you, your work, and (of course) other people.

Focusing on what makes you happy will make you successful.

We believe we should work hard in order to be happy, but could we be thinking about things backwards? In this fast-moving and very funny talk, psychologist Shawn Achor argues that, actually, happiness inspires us to be more productive.

Hello Portland,
The rain has arrived and cold season is upon us. Many friends and patients are reporting getting a cold the past couple weeks. Here's a list of things you can do to help prevent and reduce the intensity of and length of symptoms:

1. Drink lots of water every day. Adding fresh lemon will make it even better.

2. Get plenty of rest. If you are sick, let yourself get even more rest and get to bed before 10pm.

3. Have some miso soup or pho (Vietnamese noodle soup)

4.Use a neti pot/sinus rinse daily if you're sick OR 3x week preventatively. (I find the NeilMed brand to be convenient.)

5. GET ACUPUNCTURE

6. Talk to your herbalist about an appropriate Chinese herbal formula. There are an abundance of Chinese herbs that work fantastic to help with colds and flu.

7. Make a simple tea of Chinese red dates (da zao) and ginger. Drink this preventatively.

8. Make your own bone broth or chicken broth. Keep this on hand and make a hearty soup with vegetables, garlic, and ginger. Eat this regularly all season. (Note* If you can find a butcher that will provide you a chicken that still has the head and feet use this. It works better than anything else and you'll feel like you have superpowers.)

9. If you're trying to break a fever take a heavy dose of peppermint tea.

10. Try some cupping or gua sha. Don't know what that is? Ask your acupuncturist ;)
