Healing into Wholeness

Healing into Wholeness Healing into wholeness is a page that I created with the hope of bringing awareness to mental health and spiritual growth. Together we are very strong.

Please feel free to spread the love and healing that is at the crux of this page and my intention. This is an inspirational page stemming from the work I do as a psychotherapist in Portland, OR. I am passionate about growth work and see our task as taking the path of becoming conscious human beings, living with intention and finding our purpose and passion in this life we have been given. I am constantly inspired by the beauty and the suffering we encounter in our daily life. I would like to share my thoughts, my moments of awe and wonder with whomever might be called to read them and send me their own thoughts and realizations. This life we have been given is precious beyond measures, we just need to slow down enough to notice the many gifts, to take them in, and offer our own to add to the magnificent beauty we get to witness and embody. On another note I would like to let everybody know that none of the photos belong to me. When I know the source I make sure to give credit to the photographer or the original source. Same with the quotes, credit is always given when I do have the information. When you don't see any credit it is because I don't have this information. If you happen to have it and feel inclined to share it please do so.

“It is always what I have already said: always the wish that you may find patience enough in yourself to endure, and simplicity enough to believe; that you may acquire more and more confidence in that which is difficult, and in your solitude among others. And for the rest, let life happen to you. Believe me: life is right, in any case.” Rainer Maria Rilke

What matters is not the isolated entity, but the space between things, the relationship of things – the Bond…Every conflict that occurs – whether between husband and wife, social or racial groups – is resolved only when we can fully see and embrace the space – the Bond – between us.

"Being tender and open is beautiful. As a woman, I feel continually shhh’ed. Too sensitive. Too mushy. Too wishy washy. Blah blah. Don’t let someone steal your tenderness. Don’t allow the coldness and fear of others to tarnish your perfectly vulnerable beating heart. Nothing is more powerful than allowing yourself to truly be affected by things.” Zooey Deschanel

In that first hardly noticed moment in which you wake,
coming back to this life from the other
more secret, moveable and frighteningly honest world
where everything began,
there is a small opening into the new day
which closes the moment you begin your plans.
What you can plan is too small for you to live.
What you can live wholeheartedly will make plans enough
for the vitality hidden in your sleep.
To be human is to become visible
while carrying what is hidden as a gift to others.
To remember the other world in this world
is to live in your true inheritance.
You are not a troubled guest on this earth,
you are not an accident amidst other accidents
you were invited from another and greater night
than the one from which you have just emerged.
Now, looking through the slanting light of the morning window
toward the mountain presence of everything that can be
what urgency calls you to your one love?
What shape waits in the seed of you
to grow and spread its branches
against a future sky?
Is it waiting in the fertile sea?
In the trees beyond the house?
In the life you can imagine for yourself?
In the open and lovely white page on the writing desk?

“Whether we are headed towards Armageddon or sailing into the New Age, our work is the same: to keep our hearts open. To let them break when they are breaking. To keep being true to something deep and luminous within ourselves. To act when it's time to act, and to be still when stillness is called for.”

“Use your knowledge and your heart to stand up for those who can’t stand. Speak for those who can’t speak. Be a beacon of light, for those whose lives have become dark. Fight the good fight against global warming. Be a part of all that is good and decent. Be an ambassador for the kind of world you want to live in.” Julie Andrews

“Great love is never justified. It’s like the little tree that springs up in some inexplicable fashion on the side of a cliff: where are its roots, what does it feed on, what miracle produces those green leaves?” Wisława Szymborska

“Forgiveness is a beautiful thing, but it’s essential that it arises organically. Many of us claim to have forgiven while still holding toxic emotions below the
surface: the forgiveness bypass. The truth is that we cannot will ourselves into forgiveness. If we try to
forgive before we have worked through the feelings, inauthenticity blocks our path. We cannot be in the real, because we’re not emotionally real. Our heart is
still back there.” Jeff Brown

"Who we are is not what we think. We live inside a narrative that’s very narrow and forget the depth and dimension of our being. As we heal, we discover a much more mysterious quality of presence, tenderness, openness, and aliveness that’s way beyond" our ordinary sense of self.” Tara Brach
