Once a month outside Blanchet House, you might see Paul Susi at a pop-up table. Using his money, he helps people apply for birth certificates and replacement IDs. On Thurs, he wrote checks for 58 people!

“Lack of ID prevents people from accessing housing, employment, treatment, and care,” Paul says. “It’s a blind spot.”

Federal and state health officials are investigating 13 cases in 10 states of infant botulism linked to baby formula that was being recalled, authorities said Saturday.

ByHeart Inc. agreed to begin recalling two lots of the company’s Whole Nutrition Infant Formula, the Food and Drug Administration said in a statement.

We at Doula Love have felt so sad and disheartened about the impending SNAP funding lapse and want to show up for our community to help lessen the impact on the families in our community.

Our goal is to put together 400 shelf-stable meals-in-a-bag, as well as packs of diapers and formula.

We may not be able to single-handedly solve this crisis, but together, we can lessen the impact, one $10 donation at a time.

We will be coordinating the shopping, assembly, and distribution over these next few weeks.

Around the city and beyond people are looking for ways to help their neighbors who are losing food benefits as the government shutdown continues.

We found four restaurants that are doing what they can to feed people in the community.
