For many, appetite cues are going to be pretty dysregulated which means they may not be particularly reliable for determining actual nutrition needs. There can also be A LOT of feelings about appetite cues including both distress related to feeling them and a desire to eat in response to them. This session will address the nuances of appetite cues in eating disorder recovery and nutrition interventions to support increased awareness of, regulation of, and responsiveness to them.

This webinar utilizes case studies to explore common yet complex patient profiles of individuals who benefit from inpatient medical stabilization. Case studies will cover numerous topics, including medical complications associated with restricting and purging behaviors, comorbid conditions that can complicate effective treatment for the eating disorder, adverse effects of medications frequently prescribed for those with eating disorders, and complications associated with aggressive weight loss. Learners will gain an increased understanding of these medical complications and associated interventions that allow for effective nutritional rehabilitation and weight restoration.
