More than 40 families joined our Winter Welcome events on Sunday. Vancouver's Falahi Bros restaurant provided a catered dinners in Portland and Vancouver.

Our generous donors provided bundles of holiday gifts for families with a total of upwards of 230 individuals.

In Vancouver, generous community partner Trinity Lutheran Church - Vancouver, Washington provided space for our gathering.

Thank you to the upwards of a dozen LCSNW staff who worked hard to make this event happen for their clients. We see you and you are so appreciated : ).

These photos might make you think of any dreary rainy Portland weekend. But this wasn't just any rainy Sunday!

Last weekend we proudly partnered with Reborn bikes and several of its affiliates to give bicycles to many of our families who participate in our schools support program.

Fifty-five families received a refurbished, pre-owned bike in very good condition.

This is our third bike-giveaway with Reborn. Thank you Reborn Bikes West !

Last weekend our restorative justice team was proud to support a fund-raiser concert at The Off Beat (check out this fun all-ages establishment, aka Friends of Noise).

Why were we there? Through our restorative justice practice, we've been working with Emarrion Thomas, who organized and led the fundraiser. Emarrion was a responsible party in one of our recent RJ cases.

The purpose of the concert was part of his efforts (using his musical talents) to raise money needed to repair the harm he caused when he accidentally damaged their property. Emarrion (stage name: RambotheGOAT) and other young, emerging musicians he lined up for the concert gave great performances.

Emarrion and his brother perform a song about restorative justice that was written for this event! All in all, it was a beautiful evening—a perfect example of the meaningful potential that restorative justice holds. In terms of learning what it means to take accountability and meet needs of the harmed party.

If you missed the event and would like to contribute to help compensate the harmed party, there's still time: https://gofund.me/791befd6d
