In less than a week, GiveBIG opens and once again people across Washington will synchronously support causes that matter to them!

Next Tuesday, we hope you will join in the giving. We'd love it if you'll be one of the donors who help us meet or beat $8,000 raised by GiveBIG supporters last year. Those funds helped us provide vital resources, relief, and stability to neighbors in Washington.

Mark your calendar for May 5 and join us for 24 hours of statewide impact.

Did you know? Public health leaders in Oregon have identified youth mental health as a serious and growing concern.

The good news is the states is also investing in solutions—supporting programs that help young people connect, build resilience, and feel supported before challenges become crises.

Through this funding, we have been selected to provide school-based group programs that bring youth together in healthy social settings. Locally, we're doing this work with school districts in Multnomah County.

The groups offer a space for students to connect with peers, have fun, and express themselves through activities like art-making and creative projects, all while building skills that support emotional well-being.

When youth are given safe spaces to belong, connect, and be creative, it makes a real difference.

As part of our multi-cultural behavioral health services, we offer art groups that provide social opportunities for people who immigrated here as refugees. Often being a refugee is the result of traumatic life experiences. Starting over as a refugee can be quite challenging, leading to social isolation.

Our Nepali art group has gathered recently to make traditional woven crafts that sometimes adorn homes of Nepalese.

We are always accepting donations of yarn and related items used at these sessions.

We had good turnout for our recent clay workshop at our Gresham office.

One of our sessions that took place prior to the start Ramadan last week covered grounding techniques to help manage fasting. Participants reported feeling calm and relaxed as they worked with with clay. Some participants told us they had perceived clay-working as an activity only for children.

We had a few ambitious folks who worked their clay into household items, such as a plate and candleholders.

Thanks to everyone who joined!

Today we’re celebrating love in its most meaningful form—the kind expressed through compassion, support, and connection.

From our vantage point, love looks like:
* Standing with refugees and immigrants as they rebuild stability and belonging
* Supporting survivors of trauma
* Strengthening mental health and family stability
* Creating safety and dignity for people of every background
Across Greater Portland and Vancouver, our staff, volunteers, partners, and our clients show us what love in action truly is.

Thank you for helping build communities where everyone feels safe, supported, and valued. ❤️
