Meet Sophie. In 2013, Sophie was born with a Congenital Heart Defect. Daniel, Sophie’s mom Melissa and Sophie practically lived at Doernbecher, as she underwent three open-heart surgeries before she was even four years old. Sophie is now a healthy and happy 11-year old girl who is full of life!

As a result, Daniel and Friends of Doernbecher - Sophie's Friends has held Bowling with Heart at Big Al's. Come join us at the 10th annual event on February 23, 2025. You can register as an individual bowler, your whole team or as a sponsor and celebrate All Things OHSU’s Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

All proceeds go to the Friends of Doernbecher Grant Program. This program funds innovative cutting-edge research and projects that directly benefit current and future Doernbecher patients and families.
