What's happening is this: We are closing Om360.us, our virtual yoga studio which we shared with other teachers, and Todd and I are continuing on to The Yoga of Awareness, which has existed for several years, in various incarnations.

Day is the founder of OM Thrive Foundation, a non-profit supporting survivors of domestic violence. She is opening a yoga studio dedicated to providing free yoga and wellness classes to survivors of domestic violence and 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification classes for people of color.

As we close OmBase, we want to share with you the beginnings... this was the summer of 2008, where we took on the huge demo of the previous business and spent 3+ months deconstructing and rebuilding.

The floors came from a mill which was going out of business, and the shelves came from the Rebuilding Center in NE Pdx. We used all zero VOC paints, and the process was a labor of LOVE with so many coming to help.

Dear students, Shaina Traisman O'Neill-Butler, a dear teacher who taught at OmBase on and off for years, has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

We would love to support her in raising enough money so she can eat healthy foods, get proper childcare for her two young children (2 and 5 y/o), and whatever she needs to take care of herself during this year ahead.
