🍅Community food resources in Portland: Federal shutdown impacts SNAP benefits for Multnomah County residents

The Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) announced on Oct. 21 that nearly 757,000 Oregon residents who receive food assistance through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) could lose food stamps for the month of November if the federal government shutdown persists.

Last week, East Portland, Oregon, and the world, lost a valued leader and human. State Representative Hoa Nguyen led with passion to make her community a better place, and Cascadia Health was honored to have her support in building community infrastructure that impacts the lives (and whole health) of those in east county and beyond.

We were lucky to have Rep. Nguyen join us for the grand opening of our Centennial Place Apartments in 2023, which brought 71 units of affordable housing to over 120 individuals and families in District 48 and the Centennial School District. Her presence showcased her dedication and is just a small example of how her leadership brightened the world.

Our hearts are with Rep. Nguyen's family, friends, colleagues, students, and community. 💙
