On April 17th, Float Harder celebrates ten years of floating with our community.
When we opened our doors in 2016, Float Harder was run almost entirely by Amy and I operating 18 hours a day, seven days a week, doing everything from greeting guests and cleaning tanks to navigating ordinances and taxes. What started as a small family operation built around a belief in the power of floating has slowly grown into something substantially bigger. Today, we share floating with thousands of people each year thanks to our small and incredible team. Many of our staff members have been with us for a large portion of this past decade, and they help create the thoughtful, welcoming experience that so many of you have come to know. While the number of faces at the front desk may have grown, the heart of the business has stayed the same: introducing people to floating for the first time and maintaining a space where people can slow down, reset, explore, and take care of themselves.
When Float Harder opened in 2016, a single float was $65. Ten years later, our regular float price is $75. That is an increase of just $10, or about 15 percent over an entire decade, something we’re incredibly proud of being able to sustain for our community.
Running a small, independent business through a decade like this has not always been simple, but it has been incredibly meaningful. Every float booked, every membership maintained, every friend you’ve brought in to try floating for the first time has helped keep this little dream going.
We are so grateful. Grateful for the community that has supported us, for the staff who have helped shape Float Harder into what it is today, and for each of you who has floated with us over the years. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Here’s to 10 more wonderful years.
