Scoops, smiles, and sweet reunions! 🍦💛 Our ice cream social was a beautiful gathering of new and familiar faces—past and present clients and their families. Watching little ones grow and reconnecting with the families we’ve walked alongside through birth and beyond is such a gift!

😴 Sleeping on the Job 🥱

A secret skill of midwives is the ability to nap almost anywhere at any time. While it might seem odd for some people to sleep on the job, for us, it’s an important part of staying sharp and healthy to walk with you through labor.
We may nap if you’re napping, or we may switch off so one of us can catch some sleep while the other supports you. Regardless we are always sleeping with one ear open and ready to jump into action if you start pushing or need us. 💜

Please join us Thursday, July 2nd for our Parent Group with special guest Blair Kershaw who will speak on the benefits and applications of CranioSacral therapy for conception, pregnancy, birth, pediatrics and family systems. Blair is also a Hypnobirth educator so, if there is interest, she might share on that as well! Come, bring your little ones, drink tea, make some new friends and learn something new!

Something special about midwifery care is that when you call our business line, you always talk to one of your providers directly! We will answer the phone anytime, day or night. Sometimes you might hear our dogs, babies or grandchildren in the background. You may hear the wind in the trees and the birds singing as we take a walk, or work in our gardens. You may hear the shower running as we stand there dripping with soap in our hair to talk with you. The sounds of us cooking dinner, of us driving down the road to a homevisit for another client, or the voice of our partner in the background asking “are you headed to a birth?”.
When you call, we answer.

Yesterday was International Homebirth Day (missed it because we were at a birth)! Did you have a homebirth? If so, what was your favorite part?
International Homebirth Day celebrates the right of birthing people to choose the context in which they deliver their babies, emphasizing the role of skilled midwives and promoting the safety and benefits of home birth for low risk pregnancies.
