My Mom sent me something cool:
Way back in 1996, I gifted this book to my grandmother. Wherein, I inscribed to her, how grateful I was for her, how I’d wished that I’d learned these lessons earlier in my life. YadaYadaYada…
How often do we do something like this to ourselves? How often do we wish that younger versions of ourselves knew what we know now?
Think about that for a minute 🤔
Now try to catch yourself in the process, mid thought, anytime you are coming from a place of shaming previous versions of yourself for not knowing what you didn’t, actually know.
Sometimes we try and convince ourselves that “had we known” maybe things would’ve turned out differently ~ there’s no truth to this kind of statement. This is a “sliding doors” effect that our imagination dreams up to further punish ourselves FOR making the decisions we have made.
🛑 STOP IT 🛑
Please try and come from a place of allowing your history to be what it has been. And, from this point forward, make decisions that are more in alignment with where you truly intend to be.
**Processing out:
Catch that thought. Don’t analyze it 🤔 Try not to wonder why, chances are…it’s just a really bad habit ;) Process it out. Replace it with a better feeling thought 🤯
