There’s something truly magical when generations come together.

This week, our residents and local preschool students shared time creating art side by side—and the joy in the room said it all. Little hands and wise hands working together, sharing colors, stories, laughter, and a whole lot of heart.

For our residents, these moments spark connection, purpose, and pure delight. For the children, it’s a chance to build relationships, learn patience, and experience the beauty of slowing down and creating with intention.

Different ages, different life stories… but in that moment, they were simply artists together.

This is what belonging looks like.

We had a little extra magic around here for St. Patrick's Day… 🍀

Rumor has it a mischievous group of leprechauns stopped by—leaving behind a trail of green treats, laughter, and a whole lot of shenanigans! From festive bites to some very suspiciously cheerful “staff sightings,” it’s safe to say we were feeling the luck of the Irish all day long.

Take a peek at the fun—we’re still checking for hidden pots of gold! 🌈✨

We’re grateful to be part of stories like this. 💙

Harvest Homes is proud to provide a place people can truly call home, and we are thankful to partner with Multnomah County Long-Term Care Services to make community-based living possible for individuals who need supportive care.

It takes strong partnerships and dedicated teams to make this work every day, and we’re honored to be part of that effort.

Creating art can be a wonderful experience for people living with dementia. Art provides a way to express thoughts and emotions that can sometimes be difficult to put into words. Through color, texture, and creativity, our memory care residents are able to share a part of themselves in a meaningful and joyful way.

Art activities can also support relaxation, reduce anxiety, and encourage focus. Perhaps most importantly, the process of creating something brings a sense of accomplishment and pride.

Moments like these remind us that creativity has no age limit and that self-expression can continue to flourish at every stage of life.

Recently, some of our residents engaged in ephemeral art using rose petals, eucalyptus and other nature items. In addition to engaging our senses, ephemeral art represents letting go, freedom from perfection and living in the present. Some of our staff even joined in the fun.

❤️ Thriving Together at Harvest Homes ❤️

We are honored to celebrate one of our residents whose life has been dedicated to serving others. After more than 60 years in ministry, countless lives touched through teaching, counseling, and community service, his legacy continues here every day through his kindness, humor, and encouragement to those around him.

Alongside his wife, he also opened his home to nearly 100 foster children over the years — a true example of a life centered on compassion and care.

Today, he continues to inspire residents and team members alike at Harvest Homes Assisted Living. We are grateful to be part of his journey and proud to celebrate the impact he continues to make.

Thank you for reminding us what it means to truly live a life in service to others.
