Alberta Healing Arts Center/Portland Healing Arts Acute, Chronic, and Preventive Medicine
Acupuncture and Naturopathic holistic medical care. We are very happy to see patients of any background.

We serve a wide range of health care needs: primary care with a foundation of holistic medicines. With a focus on prevention and education, we diagnose through modern and holistic western, and traditional Chinese methodologies. Treatments offered are personalized and can include acupuncture, herbal medicines, physical modalities, naturopathic, traditional Chinese, and homeopathic medicines. These, combined with appropriate diet and lifestyle coaching can effectively treat most disease. Referrals are made as needed to other professionals and community members. We see patients through all stages of life, including: pregnancy, birth, labor and delivery (mother and child care), pediatric, adolescence, adult and geriatrics. Any health condition can be helped, sometimes often solely at our facility, or as part of a broader team of professionals serving a single patient. Many patients come to us using pharmaceutical medicines for management of their symptoms and we are comfortably able to work with and prescribe and/or modify prescription of these medicines as part of a patients wellness plan Compounded prescriptions can also be offered. Appropriate lab work may be necessary for such prescriptions and blood can be drawn on-site. Our Practitioners are:
Dr. Brian Vaitkus, ND, MAcOM, DCCM (Naturopathic Doctor and Physician, Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Diplomate of Canonical Chinese Medicine)
Felicia Ferruzza, LAc, MAcOM (Licensed Acupuncturist, Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine)

We are excited to offer SATURDAY Acupuncture and EVENING shifts with the talented Dr. Elisa Baum!
Book with her now: http://www.PortlandHealingArts.com

Elisa holds a doctoral degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. She was introduced to Qigong and Daoist philosophy at a young age growing up in the Catskill Mountains of Woodstock, NY, where she was instilled with immense respect for the natural world. When she began to formally study Chinese medicine, she found that her longtime fascination with understanding patterns was given a fascinating new framework. This juxtaposed with her own intuitive nature, offered an incredible lens to view the nuances and interconnectedness of the many layers that make up our entire being.

Elisa has sincere compassion for those feeling lost or alone within the difficulties of their body & seeks to bolster one’s sense of empowerment. She has a special interest in mental health, as well as conditions that are difficult to understand. In addition to her love for acupuncture and herbalism, she is also certified in craniosacral therapy. She enjoys incorporating this as well as tuning forks, cupping, gua sha & Daoist face reading into her treatments.

Autumn herb of the month: Elderberry!
We grow the local native Pacific Northwest variety: Sambucus cerulea.
The berries have a bluish color.
Our tree is still producing the berries and we are currently turning them into medicine! This tree has grown to over 15 feet tall in a short time and is very easy to grow and maintain! We used to wild harvest in the woods, and now we can harvest in our very own backyard. The flower and Berry are both used in Sicilian culinary and local medicinal ways.
