Meet new resident Erin McClure, MD:

My name is Erin McClure. I am so grateful to be starting my dermatology residency at OHSU! I feel like I won the lottery matching here. I grew up in the Seattle area, went to the University of South Florida for medical school, and I did a research year in Merkel cell carcinoma at the University of Washington.

Things I like to do for fun include getting out on the water (paddleboarding, kayaking, boating), exploring the city (visiting new restaurants, music venues, parks), axe throwing, pickleball, traveling, and spending time with my family, friends, and cat! I am excited to get to know the OHSU dermatology team better!

From the Archives 📸: Marie-Louise Johnson, MD, PhD joined by woman leaders from across OHSU for a "Women in Medicine Roundtable Discussion" as part of her Lobitz Invited Lectureship in 2016. Marie-Louise was considered a pioneer in dermatology, being the first woman to receive the Master Dermatologist Award by the AAD and the first woman to be elected President of the ADA.

NEWS 📰: Oregon's state Medicaid program will soon cover skin prick testing and subcutaneous immunotherapy for patients with allergic rhinitis (beginning in 2027), as well as patch testing coverage for eczema and contact dermatitis (beginning October 2025).

Drs. Shyam Joshi, Karen Anstey and trainee Genevieve Benedetti from OHSU's Section of Allergy and Immunology and Dr. Teri Greiling from Dermatology led advocacy efforts to increase Oregon Medicaid coverage for allergy and eczema treatments.

Excitedly they received notice that the Oregon Health Authority would be accepting both of their proposals, representing a win for the Oregon Medicaid population living with inflammatory skin disease and environmental allergies.
