The JFCS Summer Picnic was pure joy! Nearly 100 community members gathered at Cook Park for the event, soaking up the sunshine, sharing a delicious picnic lunch, and enjoying each other’s company. From rock painting to giant lawn games (huge Connect 4!), there was plenty of laughter, smiles, and new friendships all around. It was a beautiful way to celebrate community and wrap up the summer together.

Read this month’s, and the final, edition of Rabbi Rensin’s Corner, where she reflects on how loss fortified her passion for providing spiritual guidance.

We are so grateful for Rabbi Rensin’s time as the Portland Jewish Community Chaplain, and we know all those she supported feel the same. She is building upon this experience to start her own nonprofit, Nehamah, that will continue to offer Jewish Chaplain services in Portland. To reach her, email rabbirensin@nehamah.org. Thank you Rabbi Rensin!
