I’ve moved! My new location is close, nestled the heart of Lents on SE Knapp St. it has been a wonderful chapter at the TMJ Clinic and I am so grateful for all I’ve learned and been a part of there.

This next chapter of my practice is small, focused, and a joyful little pocket in my week. I am so grateful for all of you clients that make this work what it is and for the generosity of my dear friend who is sharing her space with me.

Hey Mamas. It’s not easy to keep appointment times, or know how it’ll roll with naps and your little one’s needs. But as a working mama I can say that some of the most supportive times I’ve had for myself as a new mom in this body and nervous system that does SO much, is the times I get massages from LMTs who’ve been there and will care for my body with room for my baby to be there when I need to bring her.

Do massages with a baby in tow look and feel different? For sure. But the care and encouragement are indispensable in such a challenging season of life.

I spy something that is not quiiiite plant related. Does anyone else have creative solutions to small space storage? Currently my self-care tools; tennis balls, yoga blocks, resistance bands live in planters along with my survivor plants. It brings my joy.

And it works!

Plus the look on my clients faces when they are trying to figure out why I’m rummaging in a plant when explaining an exercise is fun.

This came from a new client today, who’s been getting massage for relaxation, stress and pain relief for decades.

Currently, they are going through a health crisis, and I adapted my approach accordingly.

This seems to be the takeaway when a nervous-system centered approach is taken. Waiting for tissue response, noticing breath, paying attention for subtle cues are how this happens.

New Review! Grateful for these clients. Communication is one of my highest values as a bodyworker. Verbal communication on and off the table, and non verbal communication are so significant in creating an atmosphere which allows people to settle into their own bodies, rest and connect with themselves.

To me, the hands on portion of my work is a continuation of that; a dialogue that is mostly active listening.
