I had the privilege of meeting an awesome, rad, and talented artist and POC named Taimani Emerald Reed who makes art and learning materials to address concepts of social justice with children. Pictured is a poster she created called "A is for Ally" :)

Amy designed this fastener play board to help the kids we work with learn & practice their motor skills for self-reliance in a playful way. Bringing creativity to the task also brings purpose and interest, and it's going great!
This has us dreaming and wondering about making more of them. We think some other pediatric OT's & educators could use them as they make for a cute + functional practice / play tool.. so.. we've got some pondering to do.
We would love to employ folks who could use a hand-up, and do this in a thoughtful, supportive, sustainable way.
We are starting to look for the right match!

Skiing out our front door was quite a novel experience in this rare Portland snow storm! Knowing so many folks have been without electricity, we're hoping you are cozy and well. Unfortunately we've had to cancel many sessions - here's hoping the roads will clear up very soon and we can get back to all the in-person fun again! 💙☃️💙

We can't resist all the holiday crafting ❤️ Much fun was had making these cinnamon dough decorations - such a funky gooey and gritty texture to mix, with a wonderful scent while baking. And a pretty cute outcome, too!

We're embracing all the safety practices! And feeling glad that, as a small practice, it's been relatively easy to keep our space feeling safe. Being the only folks in the building, one family at a time, having lots of ventilation and filtration, and staggered sessions for cleaning time between sessions, with masks, symptom and temperature screenings and keeping tabs on each of our family's bubbles, we know we're doing the best we can to stay mindful and keep our community safe! May we all stay healthy and strong this winter and holiday season! 💙😷💙

When the joy of crafting aligns with an effective fine motor home program... The dreams of this OT have come to life! I've been so impressed with the way one particular youngster has taken and run with our embroidery lessons - a wonderful way to address fine motor, visual perception, motor planning, and more! 😭🧵👌✂️🙌
