Your life happens in the spaces between.

In the moments that feel like waiting.
In the seconds between text messages.
In the minutes you commute.
In the hours you work.
In the days, weeks, years between milestones.

Life is happening all the time.
Not just in the big moments.

It’s happening right here with *this* breath.

Our doors will remain open this Friday 1/30 with free classes and mat rentals for our community. This is an invitation to everyone to join us — newcomer’s, current members, pass holders and everyone in between. Our incredible staff has offered to volunteer their time as a way to uphold our bigger mission and show up with nothing but full hearts.

PPY remains a steady, supportive space for people to move and breathe together. We stay rooted in our truth: that we can still come together and be connected — to ourselves and each other— even when things feel hard, painful or uncertain.

We are committed to showing up for our broader community in thoughtful and caring ways, and you can expect us to continue looking for ways to support and stay connected.

Thank you for continuing to take care of yourselves and each other.

Fear is contagious.
But so is love.

It doesn’t take big grand gestures to spread love. Small, intentional ones can go a long way.

A simple smile. A listening ear. A moment of silence before responding. Genuine eye contact. A hug. A “thinking of you” text. A thoughtful meal together.

Don’t wait for someone to do it for you. That’s what everyone else is doing.

Be the change, be the forklift.

“Be the forklift; always be lifting people up.” - Yogi Bhajan

90 minute tips for during practice:

1. Modifications are your best friend! They support longevity and build trust in your body.

2. Use the extended practice as a playground to cultivate a relationship to discomfort and mental resistance. The thoughts are going to be there….and probably with more vigor than a 45/60 minute class. Utilize those opportunities to notice, pause and choose.

Are you really good at leaving?
Bailing?
Running?
Numbing?

If so, you’re not alone.

Most of us are really good at leaving discomfort, leaving intense feelings, leaving the moment we feel resistance or tension.

It shows up in the same ways on your mat and in your life: rushing, checking out, pushing too hard, switching to autopilot…

The option to STAY holds tremendous power. Staying doesn’t mean suffering or forcing. Actually, quite the opposite. It means giving yourself enough space to learn yourself — your habits, your patterns, your fears— and to see that you don’t have to be a prisoner to those things.

You have choice. You have options.

You have freedom waiting for you on the other side.

Next time you feel discomfort: can you lean into the space and your options?

90 minute hits different! 🔥

As we get back into the swing of an extended practices, here are some practical pro tips for setting yourself up for success:

1.    Schedule it. Put it on your calendar so it becomes something you just do. Consistency removes decision fatigue.

    2.    Hydrate early. Electrolytes the day before matter more than chugging water right before class. Get ahead of the curve.

    3.    Fuel wisely. Eat breakfast 2–3 hours before so you’re energized and digested.

    4.    Set up your space. Extra water, extra towel, any props you need — handle it before class starts so you have what you need to stay in it.

Stay tuned for some mindset tips!
