Day 3: Activity Advent calendar

We made candy can tea lattes at home and bundled up to walk the neighborhood to look at lights! There’s a very large church near us that puts up an amazing display and even plays music.

If you don’t have houses with Christmas lights in your neighborhood, hop in the car and drive to one that’s lit up near by!

Day 2 Activity Advent calendar for the holidays was to do creator art! We hopped over to .nelson.art and chose a video for inspiration! We all water colored ornaments and embellished them with colored pencils, gold markers and pens!!

Though I can stand on my head and my hands, I’m not here to entertain you.

In my classes, you won’t find noise to fill the silence, you’ll discover a spaciousness to observe limiting habits and patterns. Physically, mentally and energetically through your breath.

You’ll find space for breath, awareness, and honest connection.
A space to practice being human, and honing your skills to ride the waves of being human. Not fabrication, not performing, not pleasing, not escaping.

I don’t play music because I want you to hear yourself.
To notice your heartbeat, your breath, your thoughts.
To meet yourself exactly where you are. I don’t play music so that you can bear witness to the magic that is already in you.

Yoga was never meant to be entertainment.
It’s an education of the self, space for self study and a remembering.
It’s a space for UNLEARNING the layers of junk that have been piled on top of you , stealing your voice, your power, your purpose.

Yoga practice is a return to the quiet truth that’s already within you.

Yoga Sūtra 1.2
yogaḥ citta-vṛtti-nirodhaḥ

Yoga is the stilling of the mind’s fluctuations.

When you strip away the noise, you can finally listen.
And that’s where real transformation and self mastery begins.

The aim is to raise levels of awareness. Get to know your mind and how it works. Befriend your mind. Get to know your mind’s potential.

Why?

So that the individual will gain an understanding of the depth of themselves.

The sutras are a road map, meant to be traveled and experienced. Mere study of the yoga sutras without the practice and experience of them is like studying a map and encyclopedia of Italy without knowing the taste of pistachio gelato and Italian espresso!

Using the map and the experiences give you a deeper under of how you fit into your own life, your gifts, and purpose here.

Getting synced with your subtle energy body in presence is a magically rhythmic practice. It starts with peeling away extra auditory and visual stimulation.

This is where trust swirls again and you hear the whispers of your heart. This is where you’re safe and free. Dropping back into the sacred self.

Wellness is physical, mental, energetic, emotional, and community. ❤️

I used to curate the perfect playlist for every class.

The rise and fall of emotion.
The timed arc.
The chosen inspiration of chaos to fill the silence.

Then I’d practice to it, ensuring the rhythm was right for the movement like choreography.

Somewhere along the way, I realized…

✨ The music was doing the work for me and everyone else.
✨ The music masked what was rising naturally and squashed my inner knowing.
✨ It was a lovely distraction, but still a distraction.

Removing the playlists meant removing the performance from healing.

Removing playlists from classes meant stripping away the layers that made it “palatable” and instead sitting with what was raw, unfiltered, and real.

And ceasing to naively appropriate a practice that innately grows, heals, and helps.

Now, in the silence…
Breath becomes the soundtrack.
Body becomes the teacher.
The moment becomes sacred again.

This is yoga.
As it always should have been.

If you’re craving stillness, realness, and nervous system support that doesn’t bypass the truth you’re not alone.

If you’re “tired” of the practice or not that into it anymore, if you’re over this wellness culture and believe that the yoga doesn’t work… it’s likely because you’ve stayed in the shallow end of the pool and it’s time to go deeper. In silence. And peel away another layer of attachment.
