We're excited to announce that Mikaela is joining our weekly schedule starting this Tuesday!
Slow Flow + Yin with Mikaela Shrumm
Tuesdays from 7-8:15pm
Yoga found Mikaela during a time when she was in search of strength, growth and connection with her body. The time spent on her mat has allowed her to tap into ancient wisdom and has been a powerful tool of self-care and self-discovery. Her journey as a devoted student of yoga began in 2010. She then completed a 200hr YTT in 2018 as a way to deepen her practice. Mikaela is passionate about sharing the yoga habit with her community and creating space for students to calm the noisy mind and connect with their own intuitive hearts. Mikaela draws on her experience as a mental health professional providing a trauma informed, safe space for students to explore within their practice. This supports students in building resilient nervous systems by developing their physical and mental strength and flexibility. Her classes allow for an introspective focus and inspire students to explore their inner worlds by practicing being present in their hearts, minds, and bodies. She incorporates dynamic sequencing, pranayama, use of props and welcomes all levels of yogis.
In addition to teaching yoga, Mikaela is an oncology social worker. When she is not on her mat, Mikaela can be found in the garden, by a fire devouring novels, on the dance floor, or spending time with her family (both 2 legged and 4 legged).
