Black Balloon Day 6th annual event March 7th 2026.

Black Balloon Day is a heavy-hearted time to remember and honor those who have tragically lost their lives to overdose. This day serves as a reminder of the importance of providing compassionate and comprehensive care for individuals struggling with substance use disorder and those facing challenges related to substance use. This event unites loved ones, communities, and recovery resources throughout the state of Maine, fostering support and collaboration to prioritize healing and understanding.

We are truly grateful for the support of our sponsors and recovery resources. A heartfelt thank you goes to New Life Church for generously offering their entire facility for this event. We also deeply appreciate the talented artists who will be performing, helping to create a memorable and uplifting experience for everyone. Your contributions mean so much to us all.

🌟 Introducing the Helm Foundation 🌟

We’re proud to officially introduce the Helm Foundation — a nonprofit dedicated to building resilient recovery in Southern Maine and beyond.

Born from the same mission that guides Helm Recovery, the Foundation focuses on helping people rebuild their lives by removing financial barriers to detox/rehab, sober living, recovery resources, transportation, and essential needs. Every dollar goes directly to those who need it most — no red tape, no overhead bloat, just real support making a real difference.

Recovery isn’t always loud.
Sometimes it’s the quiet moments — making your bed, calling a friend, choosing to stay, wearing a halloween costume to just simply take the trash out on trash night — that mark the biggest victories.
🕊️ Here’s to the women doing the hard work quietly, courageously, every single day.

Today we celebrate one full year of sobriety for our incredible house manager, Samantha. Watching your growth over this past year has been nothing short of inspiring. You’ve led with compassion, strength, and authenticity — qualities that make this house feel like home for so many. We’ve had the privilege of watching you turn challenges into opportunities and pain into purpose. We are endlessly proud of the woman and leader you’ve become.

Never forget the bond between love and enlightenment.
