🏕️ Heading outdoors? Here are some tips to make you trail-ready and worry-free.

- Stay Hydrated 💧
Bring plenty of clean water and drink often.

- First Aid Comes First 🩹
Pack a first aid kit with essentials like bandages, antiseptic wipes, and allergy meds.

- Protect Against Bugs 🦟
Use insect repellent and wear long sleeves/pants to prevent bites from ticks and mosquitoes.

- Campfire Carefully 🔥
Keep fires small, controlled, and never leave them unattended.

- Be Bear Aware 🐻
Store food securely and away from your tent. Avoid scented lotions and snacks at night.

- Know Your Plants 🌿
Avoid touching unknown plants—some, like poison ivy or oak, can cause serious rashes.

- Sun Smart ☀️
Apply SPF often, even on cloudy days, and wear a hat and sunglasses to protect from UV rays.

When temperatures rise, so do your risks for heat-related illness. AFC Urgent Care is here to help you learn what to watch for and how to stay protected.

Heat Exhaustion:
• Heavy sweating
• Cold, pale, or clammy skin
• Weak, rapid pulse
• Nausea or vomiting
• Muscle cramps
• Fatigue, dizziness, or fainting

Heat Stroke (Call 911):
• Body temp of 103°F or higher
• Hot, red, dry, or damp skin
• Confusion or slurred speech
• Strong, fast pulse
• Loss of consciousness

How to Stay Safe
💧 Hydrate Often: Drink water or sports drinks even if you’re not thirsty. Skip sugary drinks, caffeine, and alcohol.
🏠 Stay Cool: Spend time in AC. No AC? Head to a mall, library, or public cooling center.
👕 Dress for the Weather: Wear loose, light-colored clothing.
☀️ Time it Right: Avoid outdoor activities during peak sun. Mornings and evenings are safer options.
