Ending Mindless Bodywork is more than a catchphrase, it is a mission that East West continues to strive to facilitate this in our profession, with our students, and in our community. We do this by having the very best instructors and CE teachers.

Alex and Jonathan of have made this mission their vision in the work that they do- and the wisdom they share in their continuing education classes taught here at East West.

To help you feel confident, excited, resourced when you are with your clients.

Continuing education is more than a requirement for license renewal, it is a way that we as LMT’s can be part of elevating the client experience and profession as a necessary form of health care.

One of the powerful benefits of participating in massage school is that you get to receive bodywork yourself as you learn.

The power of massage is palpable and from the very first quarter you have the opportunity to heal in ways that are profound to you as a human as well as those you provide care for.

Not a bad way to take care of your own body too!

Our teachers at East West are an incredible source of knowledge.

Today we wanted to share with you a quick tip on how to make chair massage easier if you do not have lubrication or if your client is wearing a chunky knit sweater. ‘tis the season for sweater weather.

Massage is both an art and a science. We teach you the science but the art comes in bringing your personality and style to your practice.

You can do this by

* Choosing your preferred population to work with ( ie: pregnant mothers, trans folks, athletes, trauma informed bodywork)

* Decorate your space with fun additions to make it feel like you ( ie: books that you like to read, tai tai blankets, red light bulbs, cozy blankets, on of our students even set up her space to look like an old school medical facility. It matches her brand and her vibe. So cool)

* Adorn yourself in the ways that speak to who you are (ie: clothing, your hair, tattoos if you like them etc) when you show who you are then others that are like minded can feel even more comfortable on your table or mat

* Pick music that moves you- maybe you like jazz, or loft beats, maybe you really like spa music, or classical. When the mood is right with you, you can show up fully and energized in the session

Craniosacral Therapy Level II
Coming this May 16th-18th at East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland Oregon.
16 CE Supervised Contact Hours
This class builds upon the skills learned in Craniosacral Therapy Level I taught by Cyr Foote, LMT as an elective in the EWC 800 hour program. Students will review the movements of the cranial bones and learn to integrate assessment and techniques to address the facial bones. The focus of the class will be evaluation of cranial dysfunctions. Students will deepen their practice of craniosacral therapy by learning to treat specific restrictions at the cranial base. Enhancing mobility of the bones of the skull to improve the health and function of the central nervous system.
