How have shifts in the funding landscape impacted our services and communities?

While there are too many to name in this one post, we wanted to share a report that our own Moamer Alsaedi prepared for Senator Jeff Merkley's office that outlines how our onsite Transitional Living Program (TLP) has been impacted.

The main points:
-Since 2002, TLP has provided supportive housing for youth ages 18-24 who are experiencing houselessness and not yet ready to live independently.
-Throughout its history, TLP has received government funds to support youth success, with 87% of youth transitioning from TLP into stable housing.
-This year, due to a shortened application window, unworkable structural mandates, and requirements that are misaligned with our trauma-informed care models, we were unable to apply for funds.

The results:
-Elimination of 2 TLP staff positions
-Reduction of on-call staff support
-Broad budget cuts that severely limit program impact

What can you do?
-Support TLP in the face of unprecedented funding impact.
-Visit OutsideIn.org/Donate, designate a gift for our Housing Program, and support youth in their stability and independence.
