At our annual Overdose Awareness Day Memorial, we remembered the 635 people in Multnomah County who lost their lives to overdose last year.

This was the first time in the 14 years of hosting the event that the number of names read aloud was fewer than the year prior.

Still, we know that 635 clients, colleagues, friends, siblings, partners, parents, and children is far too many.

This work is heavy. And we'll continue to show up in it even when we're tired, even when we're scared, even when we're heartbroken ... Just as we always have.
