May 14 was National Receptionist Day, and we were excited to spotlight Brock, one of the warm and welcoming faces of West Hills Health & Rehabilitation! Brock says his favorite part of working at our community is “connecting with residents and fellow team members!” A recent Portland State graduate, he came to our community “looking for professional experience – I value all kinds!” He enjoys “socializing with residents after dinner,” loves “art of any and all media,” and says seeing regular visitors always makes him smile. A favorite memory? “SNF Appreciation Week—especially pajama day!” Outside of work, he loves to read and write. Thank you, Brock, for all the positivity you bring to our community!

National Skilled Nursing Care Week was a week to remember! Team members and residents came together to celebrate with a fun-filled spirit week packed with themed days, tasty treats and great company.

Monday kicked things off with Hawaiian day, featuring refreshing Italian sodas and fresh fruit. Tuesday was all about comfort with pajama day and a cozy coffee and cocoa bar. Wednesday brought the laughs on wacky day, complete with a fun-filled cakewalk. Thursday had everyone getting creative, dressing as their favorite character—or as someone else entirely—while enjoying fresh popcorn. We wrapped up Friday with sports day, where the kitchen served up fan-favorite wings and nachos.

Throughout the week, team members had fun hiding a teddy bear around the community. If you found it, you got to pick out a sweet prize—just one more way to add to the fun and smiles all week long. Each day brought smiles, spirit, and a whole lot of fun.
