While Multnomah County has placed a freeze or closure on some businesses for the next 3-4 weeks, massage clinics such as North By Northwest are not affected by this.
We are allowed to continue operating because of our stringent commitment to sanitization and health, as well as the evidence showing that seeking access to health care in one-on-one environments is not contributing to infection rates.
We are here for you and will continue to stay open as long as we feel it is safe for you and for us.

Safety protocols:
•All clients required to wear masks.
•LMT wears mask at all times and face shields upon request.
•Each treatment room has hepa filtration
and windows that open. The rooms are aired out completely between clients.
•We clean all treatment rooms and common areas with medical grade disinfectants, as well as UV light between each client and at the end of the day.
•We have our own private bathroom that is sterilized after each use.
•We have decreased client flow to allow proper time to clean during the day and to keep the number of people here at any given time to a minimum.
•All clients and LMTs have their temperature taken daily before entering the clinic.
•We have a very small and dedicated crew of people who you can trust to keep your health and safety as their highest priority.

It’s always a wonder to be able to geek out and catch a Bodyworlds exhibit when it travels through. I thought I would share a little bit for anyone who is interested.
Ever wonder what your Sciatic Nerve looks like? It exits the spine and travels through these small muscles that laterally rotate your femur (thigh bone), before traveling down your leg. It’s normal to not even know these muscles exist, especially since they live underneath your Gluteus muscles (which have been removed on this model).
Often times, sciatic pain originates from tension in these deep/hidden muscles, even though the pain is felt elsewhere (often felt as a shooting pain down the leg). A well trained massage therapist can work with you to find the root of the pain/dysfunction and create a treatment plan that addresses the core issue, not just the pain symptoms. And that- my friends- is how we facilitate lasting change that moves you out of pain and into function.
