I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day ❤️ While hearts are on the brain, let’s talk about Aspirin antiplatelet therapy. Platelets are wonderful because they build clots that stop bleeding from wounds, however the build up of platelets in the arteries is a key factor in coronary artery disease and stroke. One of the most common medications for fighting the build up of platelets is Aspirin.

But not all Aspirin is created equally. There is evidence to show that Aspirin is most effective for preventing blood clots in the chewable form versus the enteric-coated tablets. If you have the coated tablet form at home, you can produce the same effect by simply crushing the tablet before taking it.

Always be sure to consult with your medical provider before you begin or change your Aspirin regimen, but be sure to consider how you could chew your way to a healthier heart! ❤️
