Cherrywood Village celebrated the tail end of Lunar New Year with a lantern festival. The residents helped make lanterns and ate traditional new year foods. There was a cultural presentation and a game of Korean New Year Bingo with prizes like red envelopes with coins and lucky bamboo plants.
Earlier in week, several residents enjoyed an excursion to the Oregon Historical Society! It was a great informative trip. We were greeted by the Executive Director and the staff were incredibly accommodating. Plus, we learned the museum is free to Multnomah County residents.

Cherrywood Village was a very merry place to be throughout the holidays. We had fun with spirit week, scenic drives to look at Christmas lights, Christmas crafts, delicious beautiful holiday meals with family and friends in our dining rooms, Santa Claus and many elves helping our seniors to truly enjoy the blessings of this season. One of our many holiday concerts this month included an orchestra of middle schoolers from Happy Valley. It was spectacular. There were 20 cellos alone! In addition, our hard working kitchen staff treated our seniors to a lovely candlelight dinner. It is definitely beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
