Before Embrace Age Prepared ever existed, Jennifer was already living this work.

For more than 30 years, she’s been inside the long-term care world, not from the outside looking in, but on the ground. Seventeen of those years were spent owning and operating seven Adult Family Homes herself.

She’s done the late nights. The last-minute placements. The staffing calls. The compliance stress. The moments where everything feels heavy and families are counting on you anyway.

She knows what it feels like because she’s been there.

“I remember wishing there was a place where AFH owners felt supported instead of isolated, where communication was clear and partnerships were real. That space didn’t exist yet… so we built it.”

When people hear “placement,” they usually picture paperwork and phone calls.

But that’s not really what this work looks like.

Most days, it looks like sitting at someone’s kitchen table and listening to their story. It looks like walking through homes, meeting caregivers, noticing the little things that make a place feel safe. It looks like answering hard questions, calming fears, and helping families make decisions they never thought they’d have to make.

It’s slower than people think. More personal. More human.

Because this isn’t a transaction.

It’s someone’s life.

This is the work we do every day at Embrace Age Prepared, and it’s why connection matters so much in this industry.

There’s something we see every day in this industry that just doesn’t sit right.

Adult Family Homes doing incredibly important work… completely on their own.

Disconnected calls. Scattered information. Everyone solving the same problems separately.

Care shouldn’t feel isolating. And the people carrying it shouldn’t feel like they’re on an island.

AFHs shouldn’t operate in silos.
