This workshop is designed to acquaint yoga students, teacher-trainees, and teachers with anatomical vocabulary, musculoskeletal structures, and movement patterns in relation to the yoga asanas. Our particular focus will be on the hips, pelvis, and lower back. The hips form the foundation of the pelvis, and the pelvis is the foundation of the spine. Improve your awareness skills as we study the bones, joints, and muscles in these challenging parts of the body.

Anatomy Weekend is almost here! Foot, Ankle, Knee, and Hip Focus

In this workshop, we will familiarize students with anatomical vocabulary, musculoskeletal structures, and movement patterns in relation to the yoga asanas. Our time together will involve lecture, demonstration, and discussion as well as direct work in the asanas.

Get a Grip: Self Care for Hands & Wrists with Laura Goff has been rescheduled due to the extreme weather. It will now be held on Saturday, February 24th, from 12:00 - 2:00pm.

In this class, we will work on grip strength, injury recovery and prevention, good arm posture, utilization of shoulder and back muscles, and appropriate use of your elbows. We will include self-massage to address grip weakness from arthritis and overuse injuries and to improve grip strength for athletic performance in activities like climbing. We'll also discuss nutritional and liniment recommendations.
This is not a therapeutic practice and is not intended for students with acute injuries or significant mobility challenges.

Join us, starting Friday, 2/16 from 10:15am-11:15am for our Intro to Iyengar series with Karen Hearn. In this progressive 4-week class, we will lay out the foundations of Iyengar Yoga by following sequencing from the Preliminary Course taught at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Institute in Pune, India. The focus will be on standing poses, basic alignment, and breath awareness in asana. Props and modifications will be made available as needed.
