Rain or shine, our Wellness team is out each week exploring the natural beauty of Portland — from the blooming paths at the International Rose Test Garden to the lush verdure of the Wildwood Trail. These outings are a wonderful way for Members to stretch their legs, enjoy the fresh air, and take in the city’s natural beauty together. 🌿🌹

In our latest Meet Your Neighbor interview, we spoke with Terwilliger Plaza Members Terry Dalsemer and Gail Owen, whose journey together spans nearly 30 years—from meeting in a Baltimore book club to bonding over a shared love of swimming. Gail, from Maryland’s eastern shore, had a long career as a Public Information Officer, while Baltimore-born Terry worked in women’s health and psychotherapy, co-authoring a historical essay published in Women: A Journal of Liberation. They moved to Portland in 2008 and years later to Terwilliger Plaza, where Terry leads aging-focused discussion groups, and Gail serves on the Terwilliger Plaza Artworks Committee.

Under the direction of Kelley Nassief, the Marilyn Crilley Professor of Opera and Director of Opera & Opera Studios at Portland State University, students from the PSU Opera program will perform classical opera works, including arias from their upcoming production of Mozart’s “Cosi Fan Tutte.”
