                                            Hawthorne chiropractic is a multi-practice health and wellness center focused around natural healing, located in SE Portland. We are currently seeking a highly motivated, organized self-starter who has a passion for helping people for a front desk receptionist/administrative assistant who would like to join our team. This position will be a full time position and will require some flexibility in regards to scheduling while training, which may mean part time to start. 
Prior experience is not required, as we will train the right candidate! This position will require strong tech and multitasking skills, clear written and verbal communication, a self-starter who is able to work with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize their daily tasks, and to quickly adapt to new software and insurance knowledge. A strong eye for detail and organization is needed as we deal with time sensitive information and sometimes confusing insurance information.  It is important for us to find a candidate who can remain calm and cheerful under pressure, as you will be the last face that the patient sees at the end of their treatment and it is very important to us that our patients leave the clinic happy. 
Job responsibilities:
Answer phones, emails, faxes, and physical mail correspondence. 
Scheduling and managing the overall flow of patient care. 
Data entry, which includes verifying and maintaining patient records. 
Verifying insurance benefits, and sending patients the appropriate paperwork. 
Collecting copays upon checkout and processing insurance checks.
Processing and distributing mail to the proper departments. 
Reviewing forms for inaccuracies while scanning them into our system.
Address all patient questions or concerns with knowledge and confidence. 
Maintain sanitization of the front desk area, fold laundry and load the dishwasher when necessary. 
Preparing daily reports, paperwork, and balancing daily financials. 
Abide by HIPAA laws, and secure the area when away. 
Work cohesively with providers in a very healing and family oriented practice. 
We are looking for someone who is willing to work with a somewhat flexible schedule, as our opening and closing time depends on the schedule for the day. The shifts we are looking to fill are for Monday 7:30am - 2pm, Tuesday - Friday 7:30 - Close. We do understand that some of these days can be long, and we are able accommodate a longer lunch period on those days. As a full time employee you will be entitled to medical and dental benefits, 401k match, and free chiropractic care. We offer a competitive wage, which can be discussed during our interview process. This position will start at $15 an hour to start, and when training concludes a review will be granted and an additional pay increase can and will be discussed at that time.
