Adventist has an amazing collaborative birth team with midwives, nurses and OBs who look forward to doula care as well as one of the only sidelining birth centers in the county. 4 rooms with real beds, immersion tubs, nitrous upon request. . Join GatewayDoulaGroup.org for community births as well as our on-call programs at Adventist, OHSU. Gateway also does doula billing statewide for THWs and helps new doulas with peer mentorship. Gateway -as Mother Tree’s sister org —has over 60 community doulas supporting across the state.

Dogs and owners who gaze into each other’s eyes experience a significant increase in oxytocin levels. For example, one study found that dogs and owners who spent a lot of time gazing into each other’s eyes had a 130% increase in oxytocin levels for dogs and a 300% increase for owners. Enhanced social communication
Mutual gazing between dogs and humans can facilitate affiliative communication and mutual interaction.

Posted • There is a lot I didn’t know, but now I DOula 💗✨ Completed the Postpartum Doula training weekend… but this is only the beginning 🐛 I’ve got a lot of little baby steps ahead of me to get certified. Excited for the journey ahead 🦋

It was lovely to spend this weekend making new connections with the other doulas in training. What I learned most from this course is that it truly takes a village. I could not and would not “do it on my own”! I know I’ve got a lot of love to give and more knowledge will come with time and experience… but I’ll also be creating community to support new parents on their journey to live in wellness with their tiny new family member(s). 👶🏼👩🏻‍🍼🍼💞
So grateful to our incredible instructor & for providing these courses. This kind of work is gonna change the world for generations to come 🫶🏼
