How does one go from idolizing an archetype like Jesus and his demonstration of some of the best qualities of being human, such as compassion, kindness, charity, and love, to idolizing and emulating someone who demonstrates some of the worst qualities of being human? And then, holding the belief that serving a corrupt master, and worshiping a false idol will take them to the good place?  Can we please just go back to loving thy neighbor, feeding the hungry, providing shelter to those who need it, and emulating the best qualities of being human? Thank you.

I hope your religion inspires you to be the best human. I think that’s what religion is therefore. Leave the science to the scientist. Leave history to historians. Leave engineering to the engineers. Leave astronomy to the astronomers are able to measure how old the universe appears to be. Let your religion inspire kindness, compassion, and the ability to see that we are all connected and we are all one.

We live in times that offer us a wonderful opportunity to reconsider that we are one. We are one species, on one planet, tied to each other, connect to each other, dependent on each other, supporting each other inexorably, whether we realize it not.
