Most people understand the idea of a 401k.

You put a little in, it feels like nothing is happening, and then one day you check it and think, “Oh… okay.”

Fitness works the same way.You show up a few times a week, eat a little better, prioritize protein, and try not to restart every Monday. At first it doesn't feel like much.
Then you realize you are stronger, you have more energy, things hurt less, and you are not completely out of breath chasing your kids.

That is the compound effect.

And unlike your 401k, no one can tax it, no one can take it away, and no market crash can wipe it out.

What the heck is triple extension?

This is Grace.

Grace is showing exactly what coaches mean when they say “triple extension.”

In simple terms, that just means she’s fully extending:

hips
knees
ankles
all at the same time.

This is the moment in an olympic lift where you use all the power in your legs to drive the weight up before you drop under it.

Murph is about 30 days out.

Which means all those Tuesdays and Saturdays you’ve done the push-ups, pull-ups, squats… they weren’t random.

They were preparing you for this.

You’re more ready than you think.

We’ll run two heats:
8:15 AM
10:00 AM

Sign up early so we can plan it out and make sure everyone has a great experience.

Also, bring your people!!

Friends, family, kids, dogs: have them come watch you do something hard.

Meet some of our 4 PM Small Group Strength peeps.

Honestly, they’re the worst.

They’ll hype you up, cheer for your PRs, notice when you’re getting stronger, and somehow make showing up 3x a week feel like something worth celebrating.

Terrible behavior, really.

Last week this amazing bunch hit some big PRs, but the best part is the way they celebrate each other. Whether your win is adding weight to the bar, moving better, or simply making it to the gym consistently, they’ll noticed and be the first to high you!

This was retest week for our small group strength folks- zero fun, lots of PRs- or something like that!

Next week they start a new 8 week block focusing on posterior chain- the muscles you sit on- and upper body pressing- the muscles you flex with!

Weekend split- Maria is covering for coach Chase Saturday as he heads off to compete in a local CF comp- good luck coach- but he’ll be back at Sunday. Make sure you ask him how it went!

At least once a week we get this message:

“Do you have any workouts I can do while traveling?”

Yep. And they don't suck.

We’re talking legit dumbbell and hotel-gym workouts that usually get this response:

“Yeah… that wasn't easy.”

Same goes for nutrition. We’ve got PDFs on:

protein + fiber hacks

and a whole lot more

As spring and summer travel picks up, the goal is simple:

Don’t lose momentum.

You do not need to get fitter on vacation.
You just need to keep the habit.

This is Nathan, Judy and Chris’s son.

He’s the reason our rowers and bikes function so well week after week! Seen here, Nathan is cleaning and oiling the working components of rower 12!

Nathan also helps us keep the gym looking amazing on the weekends by deep cleaning equipment, touching up paint, fixing what needs fixing, and making sure everything runs the way it should.

George reminds you not to sleep on this big weekend at Woodslawn!!

Coach James, and hopefully his faithful companion Hazel 🐕will be bringing the good vibes to Saturday and Sunday classes.

Jonathan will be leading Week 5 of our Push-Up + Pull-Up Seminar, where positions are getting stronger by the week, and coaching Small Group Strength at 9:30.

And while all that is happening in the gym, Melissa and Mary will be out competing in a local CrossFit comp. Good luck, team.
