What are your favorite glimmers?

✨ Glimmers-- a term coined by PVI co-founder and polyvagal expert Deb Dana, LCSW, --are micro-moments of ventral vagal activation that can help shift the nervous system from survival mode into a state of regulation.
By noticing and nurturing small moments of wonder and curiosity, we can strengthen our sense of safety, connection, and resilience.
✨ Dive deeper into Polyvagal Theory, the vagus nerve, and nervous system health at www.polyvagal.org --you'll find our free Learning Library, a vibrant Online Community Space, our new podcast, a line of courses and trainings to become a Polyvagal-Informed professional, and more.

My goal was - Wholehearted living!

Move from staying stuck to whole-hearted living.

Learning to accept and live with all our emotions is by no means what most of us do. Instead, most of us use default behaviors that we hope will deflect or disguise our "negative" feelings so we won't have to face them.

What default behavior do you use to sidestep your feelings? Next time you notice yourself following that same old path, try opening yourself up to your emotions so that you can grow. That is whole-hearted living.

Við þurfum öll að minna okkur á að taka af okkur pressuna sem fylgir daglegu lífi.

Ég veit að þú ert alltaf að gera þitt besta. 🥰

Hverju getur þú sleppt í dag eða þessa vikuna? Hvar getur þú gefið þér tíma til að hægja á þér og hvílt þig? 🥀

Þegar við sýnum okkur sjálfum mildi, gefum við öðrum í kringum okkur einnig leyfi til að sýna sér meiri mildi. Við njótum öll góðs af því.

When adults learn that their beautiful, complex ANS is always, always, always working for them, it is a huge relief!!

With this knowledge, we understand that we are changeable and that we can practice what and how we want to change, over time. We learned through experiences growing up to predict things, situations, and feelings.

"The Predictive Brain and Neuroplasticity: A key element of Lisa Barrett's work is the idea that the brain is a predictive engine, constantly anticipating what will happen based on past experiences. These predictions influence our perception and emotional responses. Neuroplasticity allows these prediction engines to change over time. As we have new experiences, our brains update their predictive models, which in turn can alter the emotions we construct in response to different situations."

Hand on heart, my friends!

In the newest episode of Wired for Connection: A Polyvagal Podcast, Dr. Lori Desautels, Assistant Professor at Butler University and founder of the Applied Educational Neuroscience certification program, discusses the transformative power of understanding the nervous system—particularly through the lens of polyvagal theory—in education.
She shares her journey from special education teacher to neuroscientific educator, and highlights how applied neuroscience can revolutionize classroom practices to support both teachers and students.

Were you sexually abused as a child? Are you stuck as an adult? I know how that feels. You’ve read all the right books, tried everything you can think of, and the same negative things keep happening again and again in your life and relationships. It’s a depressing hamster wheel, and you can’t figure out how to stop it. Ugh! I can help. I went through all of that on my own journey and finally found my way out. I can help you escape this depressing cycle, too. That’s why I offer private coaching for those stuck in this frustrating place. Some just need an hour, and they can move forward again. Others need more. Some need group coaching. Everyone is different. I help people all over the world using Skype or Zoom, or over the phone. I charge $125.00 per hour for Abuse Survivor Coaching. Email svava@educate4change.com to set up an appointment. You can also book on my calendar using the link HERE! If you need someone safe, someone who knows exactly how you feel and won’t judge, contact me. We can talk about it. You’ll feel much better. You really will.

Other Services: All services are provided using the internet (Skype or Zoom) or telephone.
