The Summit Spine Institute was founded at Emanuel Hospital in 2007 by J. Rafe Sales, MD, a board-certified and fellowship-trained Orthopedic Spine Surgeon. The Institute was founded with the goal of becoming the premier institute for spinal care in the Northwest. Our mission is and has always been to provide patients with the best opportunity to return to their prior function, be it through nonoperative or operative care.
