Following a devasting fire this summer, our partners at Umi Organic had to start over on how they would find a way to make yakisoba and other noodles again.

We are so happy to announce that they are back! Still made in Portland, still made with the same ingredients and Oregon flours.

Did you try our Brussels sprouts today? A little sweet and a little spicy - from agave and Dijon mustard tossed on them after roasting in the oven. Seen here with our lightly breaded chicken breast fillet on a fresh whole wheat bun. The colorful fruit? A red fleshed apple from Kiyokawa Family Orchards.

Our team is going bananas this week - from our fresh bananas at breakfast to being very excited to serve our turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy lunch tomorrow.

Super shout out to Amy at Maplewood for sharing her school photo this year, Olivia at Llewellyn for bringing spirit to her breakfast service this morning, and Rachel at Mt Tabor adding some emojis to her bananas.

Today our teams at Richmond Elementary, Mt Tabor Middle School and Grant High School connected with the Dual Language Immersion program and school communities by offering Japanese curry as a choice. We love making these connections that also lead to us serving more foods, this time from Origami Catering (Portland), and testing new entrees with our students to consider for district wide menus.
