Three years ago, I wrote a 4th of July post acknowledging the level of division and disagreement in the country with regard to where we were as a country at the time. Sadly, I feel that the situation has not improved today, and I hear that concern expressed often in the clinic. While we may all have our reasons to feel discouraged or elated about the future of our nation, for today, try to enjoy the freedoms we have and realize what a great nation we are and the potential that we have to succeed and fulfill the expectations and hopes of us all. The battles we have to fight and the challenges we face will still be there tomorrow. For today, remember that we are all Americans and we are one, united and strong. Happy 4th of July and may yours be fun, safe, and healthy!
