Yesterday I made the difficult but right decision to close my practice for the next couple of weeks in an effort to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. This morning I read on NPR that less than half of US adults are changing their behaviors to engage in social distancing.
Our state/national boards and local leaders are doing nothing currently to guide acupuncturists as to what to do. Many are still open and operating "business as usual” as nothing is being mandated and therefore us business owners are left to making the decisions ourselves.
After a lot of thought, discussions with my partner and colleagues, and advice from experts, I have decided to close my doors for now to protect my patients and their families, my community as well as myself and my family. This decision did not come lightly but it feels right and I believe it to be the most socially responsible. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime over these next couple weeks regarding any suggestions I have to help continue your care at home or just to say hello! 🙌
If we all work together as a community, we will get through this as quickly and safely as possible and work to get that curve flattened to help protect our most vulnerable and make sure our healthcare system can serve us all. ❤️❤️❤️
