Children’s Farm Home celebrates 100 years in Corvallis They haven't all been good ones though. Here's the story.

Portland General Electric’s IT leaders came together to build 20 skateboards as a team.

After a fantastic day of building, they donated them to our Portland Campus as well as 20 helmets to keep our kids riding safely!

We are loving the smiles these are bringing to our clients faces!

October 10th is World Mental Health Day!

According to the World Health Organization Western Pacific Region, the overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health.

The Day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide.

The Blue Heron Chapter of National Charity League, Inc. held a fun Philanthropy Day on Sat. September 10th.

Trillium Family Services was thrilled to meet the new incoming future volunteers and donors of this organization. NCL has been a big supporter of our annual coat drive and holiday giving programs.

2022 National American Indian/Alaska Native Hope for Life Day:

To further advance the National Action Alliance for Su***de Prevention’s priority to change the public conversation around su***de and su***de prevention, the American Indian/Alaska Native Task Force developed the National American Indian/Alaska Native Hope for Life Day (which coincides with World Su***de Prevention Day on September 10).

With September 10th being Saturday, we wanted to take a moment today to give recognition to this very important day.

Trillium Team Completes First Day of Da Vinci Days Kinetic Challenge in Corvallis!

A determined and energized group of Trillium Family Services youthful clients and staff from the Corvallis campus participated in this year’s Da Vinci Days Kinetic Challenge at the Benton County Fairgrounds this past Saturday. The group created a pedal-powered, four person moving artwork called “Team Punk Rocket”, involving all the participating youth to complete a road course and sand hill course challenge.

In honor of the Juneteenth holiday they volunteered in the Therapeutic Healing Garden on our Portland campus.

Juneteenth marks our country’s second independence day. Although it has long been celebrated in the African American community, this monumental event remains largely unknown to most Americans.

The holiday commemorates the Emancipation Proclamation that the U.S. President Abraham Lincoln issued to free enslaved African Americans in secessionist states on January 1, 1863, but enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, would not learn of their freedom until two years later.

On June 19, 1865, Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger informed the community of Galveston of Lincoln's proclamation. Though it was issued years prior, enslavers were held responsible for telling the enslaved they were free, and some ignored the directive. Maj. Gen. Gordon demanded Galveston locals comply with the proclamation.

In 2010, Senator Kent Conrad sought official recognition of PTSD via a “day of awareness” in honor of Staff Sergeant Joe Biel, who struggled with the disorder after two tours in Iraq. His birthday, June 27th, was selected as the official PTSD Awareness Day, and is recognized annually.

Due to the prevalence of the condition, in 2014, the Senate designated the month of June as National Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness Month, with the goals of reducing the stigma associated with PTSD and to encourage those who are suffering its effects to get the help they need.

Trillium Child Psychiatrist Named Vice Dean at COMP-Northwest Campus, Oregon’s Osteopathic Medicine School!

Trillium psychiatrist, Dr. Mandilin Hudson, D.O., has been named Campus Vice Dean at COMP-Northwest, the state’s only Osteopathic Medical School located in Lebanon, Oregon. Dr. Hudson is a graduate of COMP-Northwest and we are proud to celebrate her recent appointment and all her work on behalf of Oregon’s children and families!
