INCIGHT Non-Profit serving people with disabilities: Education, Independence, Employment

📣 Here’s a The Understanding Digital Throwback!

✨ “Behind the Lesson: Adding an Exercise Lesson to INCIGHTful Learning” shares how we worked with world-renowned athlete and advocate Karen Gaffney from the Karen Gaffney Foundation to bring the power of movement — exercise, goal-setting, and fun group activities — into our curriculum.

💪 From swimming across the English Channel to teaching “Sit-Down Baseball,” Karen’s story shows how physical activity can build confidence, community, and lifelong habits for health and happiness.

🎬 The post goes behind-the-scenes on how we turned Karen’s experience into a video lesson — thoughtfully designed with accessibility and universal design in mind — so students of all abilities can benefit.

🌱 Like Karen, we believe movement matters. Exercise isn’t just about physical health — it helps grow resilience, connection, and independence.

Think back to when you were in high school.
What resources do you wish you had that helped you prepare for the “real world”?

At INCIGHT, we partner with schools to provide a curriculum program for students with disabilities to help navigate life after high school so that they are equipped with tools and knowledge to unlock their full potential.

We believe that students with disabilities deserve the chance to be able to leverage any obstacle they may face, and excel beyond their time in the classroom.
By giving a gift today with our ’Tis the Season campaign, you’re making sure that students get an A+ in life!

🌟 When they said “impossible,” she proved them wrong.

On her 13th birthday, Samantha Limon never could have guessed what was ahead. An illness disrupted her dreams — school, identity, hope. But she refused to let others decide her story.

Today, Samantha is a college student pursuing her dream of becoming a neurogastroenterologist — a living, breathing testament that “impossible” is just a word.

🌟 to a story that makes us proud — INCIGHT is “rewriting the story” for people with disabilities in Portland. As covered by KOIN 6 — we’re helping create life-changing opportunities through jobs, mentorship, scholarships and so much more.

This video clip from former INCIGHT scholar Margaret, talks about how we aim to have long lasting relationships with members of our community.

For over 20 years, we’ve believed in what’s possible. From scholarship awards to job placement support — our mission remains: changing hearts and minds, leveraging obstacles, and unlocking potential.

Be on the lookout on our website incight.com when the scholarship application opens starting in January!

💙 To everyone who has supported us — past, present, and future. Let’s keep moving the world together.

Tis the Season for Potential ✨

On this , we want to invite you to be a part of making a lasting impact as we continue to "Move the World, Expecting Great Contributions WITH People Experiencing Disabilities"

As 2025 comes to a close, we reflect on a year of growth, resilience, and impact — and look ahead to the hope we can create together. For over two decades, INCIGHT has worked to unlock potential for people experiencing disabilities and barriers through education, employment, and independence.

This year alone, donations have helped us make a significant impact. Here are some of the highlights:

* 28 educational scholarships awarded
* 1,500+ students and job seekers empowered with our INCIGHTful Transitions Curriculum
* 1,360+ job seekers served through our employment programs
* Provided Disability Awareness training to 10+ organizations leading the way in enriching company culture by supporting inclusion.

Now more than ever, your support matters. Every gift — large or small, one-time or recurring — helps power new opportunities and life-changing outcomes for individuals striving for independence and dignity.

🙏 If you believe in community, inclusion, and the promise of potential, consider donating or sharing this post to spread the word. Together, we can make this season — and the coming year — brighter for so many. ❤️

Meet INCIGHT Scholar, Jada Yang — a sophomore at UC Berkeley studying public health, disabilities & policy, and serving as a Student Senator in the ASUC.

Living with cerebral palsy, she’s already leading the charge for inclusion, speaking up when she’s “the disabled-community representative in the room.”
💬 “We have so much work to do… while buildings are ADA-compliant, are they really accessible?”

Beyond compliance, Jada’s calling for creativity, community voices, and coalition-building — embodying the mission of INCIGHT to change hearts and minds around disability advocacy.

Leaders like her keep striving for spaces where everyone belongs. 🙌
