Hello- Thanks for reviewing my information and considering me as a potential therapist. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has worked in a variety of settings, providing mental health and substance use treatment for over thirty years. I firmly believe that the right mix of a person’s readiness and the style and skill of a therapist can help people make tremendous change in their lives. I draw upon a variety of relationship based counseling approaches and incorporate recent developments in our understanding of the brain and body, to help people better know themselves and move towards increased happiness. We can work together to explore difficult situations and identify solutions I am interested in how people feel, think and behave. If something in your life isn't working for you, I am dedicated to helping you figure it out. I strive to create a private, comfortable, friendly environment where it is safe to discuss what is important to you and to think about and practice new ideas and skills. Hmmm??? Explaining the purpose of those DISTRACTION, BEING IN THE MOMENT,DISTRESS TOLERANCE skills is key- because this woman is right- taking showers will not cure trauma or 28 years of mental illness. But… all of those ideas/skills do help people cope and feel better while they heal. ❤️
