Here we go!!

Welcome!!! This is HAPPENING!!

Almost 20 years ago, two things happened. I attended the birth of my niece, assisting my sister with comfort measures during her labor and I was offered a role as Human Resources Generalist at the organization I worked for. I was not yet 20 years old and I had no idea how these two events would change the trajectory of my life. I knew that I wanted to attend many more births and I was excited about my first big professional gig.

Over the next 20 years I built a name for myself in Human Resources, specifically in diversity recruitment. I have a deep passion for diversity and inclusion and with that passion I served New Mainers, created programs and partnerships to attract underrepresented talent into various organizations, and provided education to other human resources professionals.

Sporadically over the years I served as a birth worker and in 2016 I took my birth doula training at Birth Roots through DONA. I had a vision that in my “second act” I would be a full time doula. Well the Universe listens...in March 2017 I was laid off from my dream {corporate} job after 10 years with the organization. I was going through other life changes and basically felt like I was starting over.
