Labor day is behind us, which means we are back in the swing of things here at my office! It feels great to be back and hear about everyone's summer adventures and life updates. The air conditioner is on full blast this week, my plants are growing very well, and tourist season in Portland is beginning to slow down. Your relaxing massage oasis awaits!

When we are anxious, the body knows. When we don't feel our best, the body knows. When we are wanting something and unsure of how to get it, the body knows. The body is whispering answers to our problems all of the time.
The body contains vast reservoirs of wisdom gathered from our entire life. The more we slow down and study its nuanced, delicate language, the more answers we find.
The brain stores this knowledge, using words and concepts gathered along our journey. But the body... the body knows that which exists beyond words. We can spend our lives unraveling its answers and still there will be more to learn.
Massage is one way to come home to the body -- to listen to it, feel it, and give it the restful ease it is often asking for. Massage happens to be one of my favorite home-comings because it is effortless, good for my health, feels nice, and leaves me rejuvenated at the end.
In my practice, I relate to massage as an art form that fuses the most relevant, cutting edge science in the fields of anatomy, kinesiology, and manual therapy with both new and ancient modalities of healing. To my inquisitive mind, massage is an ever-unfolding mystery... to my hands, massage makes sense.
Our body is the only one we get in this life time. It is precious, deeply sensitive, and infinitely connected. It is a beautiful combination of responsibility and privilege to care for it as best we can.
However you choose to come home, I look forward to seeing you on our collective Journey Back to the Body.
