Hello and congratulations on a completed summer term! We have a few major announcements to make (in brief, details below):
1) Our Scrubs Sale is not over!
2) Our website and events calendar have been updated.
3) This year we are doing a 3-meeting series for our annual Meet the Mentor gathering. We’ll have food for you at the 2nd and 3rd meetings if you RSVP to srgohsu@gmail.com.

1) We are still selling scrubs! We wanted to get a bulk order through early, for the DS1s to get their scrubs by the start of Fall term. We will let you know where and when we can take more orders. We apologize for the confusion—more info coming soon.

2) Check out our recently updated website for up-to-date information about us, including contact info and details about the CaseCAT program!
http://www.ohsu.edu/xd/education/schools/school-of-dentistry/research/student-research-group.cfm

Also, take a look at our Events Calendar for a preview of our events for the upcoming school year, including Meet the Mentor, Research Day, and Dean’s Seminars.

3) This year we are trying out a series of 3 meetings for our annual Meet the Mentor gathering. These are geared toward students interested in pursuing a research project or making a CaseCAT poster, and will introduce numerous faculty members (and their areas of interest) who want to mentor students. Come get to know the faculty and figure out your plans, and to learn how to write and submit a proposal to apply for fellowship opportunities.
1. Meet the Mentor, Monday Sept. 28th, 12-2 PM, 3A003A/B - an informational session to kick things off, get to know the professors, and learn about fellowship opportunities.
2. Meet the Mentor: Follow-up, Monday Oct. 19th, 12-2 PM, 3A003A/B - after some time has passed, continue to socialize with professors and get more comfortable with your project’s details and timeline. You can RSVP for this meeting by sending us an email at srgohsu@gmail.com (please specify this meeting date and include any dietary needs).
3. Research Fellowships: Writing Workshop, Monday Nov. 2nd, 12-2 PM, 3A003A/B - Come watch a presentation from Dr. Agnieszka Balkowiec about what kinds of opportunities are available to students for research projects (such as the AADR Fellowship and the OHSU Dean's Fellowship) and how to write an application for one. You can RSVP for this meeting by sending us an email at srgohsu@gmail.com (please specify this meeting date and include any dietary needs).

That’s all for now. Please send any questions or comments to srgohsu@gmail.com. Enjoy the new bridge!

Hey future dentists! For those of you interested in getting involved in research, mark your calendars for September 28th at noon, when we're hosting the annual Meet the Mentors gathering! This will be a chance for students of any year to meet professors and see what research opportunities are available, whether they want to apply for a fellowship to execute a full project for their DS1-2 summer break, or just survey the literature to answer a clinical question with a CaseCAT poster.

No RSVP necessary, and there will be free lunch courtesy of the Dean's Office! Keep your eyes peeled for an upcoming flyer and future announcements.
